About this tool

Paste any JSON Web Token to see its header and payload decoded as readable JSON, alongside the signature and the exp / iat / nbf timestamps with an expiry badge. Works with HS256, RS256, EdDSA and any JWT whose header and payload are base64url JSON. The same tool also generates signed JWTs (HS256/HS384/HS512 or none) from a structured form. The token is decoded locally and never leaves your browser.

How to use
  1. Copy a JWT (header.payload.signature) and paste it into the box.
  2. Read the decoded header and payload JSON.
  3. Check the exp / iat / nbf timestamps and whether the token has expired, then copy the JSON you need. Switch to the Generate tab to create a signed JWT.
Is the token sent anywhere?

No. The token is decoded entirely in your browser and is never uploaded.

Does this verify the signature?

No. This tool only decodes the header and payload. It does not validate the signature with the signing key.
