About this tool
Transform any text by rotating each letter a fixed number of places in the alphabet. ROT13 is the classic 13-place shift: it scrambles text and, because 13 is half the alphabet, applying it a second time restores the original.
How to use
- Type or paste your text into the input box.
- Keep the shift at 13 for standard ROT13, or set a different shift for a custom Caesar cipher.
- Choose Encode to rotate forward, or Decode to rotate backwards.
- Copy the result with the Copy button.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The rotation happens entirely in your browser.
Does it change numbers or symbols?
No. Only the 26 letters are shifted; digits, punctuation, and other characters pass through unchanged.
